This book tells the story of the invasion of Okinawa by the U.S. from the perspective of a young girl.

In general, I hate the idea of abridged or simplified stories for younger audiences.

I would recommend this to anyone happy to take the time to read it, as it is a beautifully written piece.

This is an internal look at how a collective dictatorship remains in power through coercive control.

I love the way this narrative is told. We are delivered small bites of chapters that you can just devour.

Overall this is a boring story. When nothing is happening with the characters nothing is happening at all.

This interesting book is a cross between a bestiary and something else altogether.

This murder-mystery thriller opens with the main character getting murdered. But she survives.

The simple language should not be confused for a simple story – it is anything but.

This is Dickens at his best. This is a move away from the boy hard done by in the world to that of a young man.
